HUNGARIAN REFUGEE FOOD RELIEF
Since waves of refugees cross the Hungarian border fleeing from Ukraine, ISKCON Hungary starts to actively participate in helping those displaced in the Ukrainian-Russian conflict. In addition to keeping up the everyday distribution of food, the Hare Krishna Food For Life program is always ready to help in disaster situations feeding the masses who arrive from disaster areas.
To organize the catering operation, devotees have contacted the relevant government agencies and other charities and are preparing to start the food distribution when the events require. On request from the Embassy of the Republic of India, devotees also participate in the catering of those Indian citizens who are being evacuated from Ukraine to India through Hungary. In addition to getting a warm meal of traditional vegetarian preparation, they will also get a food parcel which will tide them over throughout the day. Devotees will also give spiritual assistance if needed, helping their repatriation in good mental as well as physical health.
Hungarian devotees also organize peace meditations and continuously pray for their fellow human beings and for the peaceful resolution of the present situation as soon as possible.
Any donations to help the refugees are most welcome. Donations may be given by bank transfer to the following account:

EVERY MOMENT COUNTS
“Food for Life” is the largest vegetarian food distribution organisation in the world. We have been operating in Hungary as “Ételt az Életért” (which is “Food for Life” in Hungarian) since 1999. With almost 1,000 volunteers, we distribute 2,000 plates of warm vegetarian food daily in Budapest and hundreds more in various locations around the country. We also distribute 500 tonnes of cooking ingredients to the needy, per annum.
EVERYONE IS IMPORTANT
There are so many categorisations of people in need; the list is endless. But we have an overarching philosophy: No one who approaches us in need is turned away. We want to create a world in which no one is below the poverty line, whatever their background
We have special distribution events at certain points in the year, such as Easter, the “UN International day for helping the poor,” International Children’s Day, and at Christmas
FEEDING THE 10,000
Surely you have heard of Jesus “Feeding the 5,000?” Well, at Christmas every year, we double it, and Feed the 10,000! And not just one day, but 3 days running, on the 24th, 25th & 26th December. We try to make it a real Merry Christmas for those who really need!
